​Largest NJ chartered bank as measured by assets,  more than twice of second-largest Provident Bank> Founded 1926 as Washington Rock Building and Loan Association of Millburn, a mutual savings and loan association, changed name 1942 to Investors Saving and Loan Association of Millburn, in 1992 became first savings and loan institution in NJ to take advantage of new law allowing streamlined transition to a savings bank, and modified name to Investors Savings> Partial stock offering 2005 raised capital for expanded merger and acquisition activity, opened first branches in NY City, Long Island, and central and southern NJ, 2011 changed name to Investors Bank> Conversion from mutual to stock ownership 2014, created holding company Investors Bancorp as Delaware corporation>  Recent acquisitions included banks in Mercer and Gloucester counties> Kevin Cummings appointed CEO 2008, holds MBA from Rutgers.
