Established 1963, recognized bargaining unit for all NJ State Troopers under rank of Sergeant. Negotiates salary, benefits, promotion standards and procedures, lobbies on legislation affecting members. Provides legal advice and referrals for members.

New Jersey Association on Correction

Established 1961, provides various types of support services to clients, including discharged inmates, survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, women at risk of separation from their children due to child abuse and/or neglect, women in recovery and their children, people at risk for and living with HIV/AIDS, adult-ex-offenders, and youth at risk of becoming offenders. Services include operating shelters, rehabilitation facilities; sponsoring housing assistance, legal and financial assistance, transportation for medical care, personal counseling, crisis intervention and stabilization, vocational skills and educational training, relocation assistance for survivors, and job placement.

Reentry Coalition of New Jersey

Formerly known as Coalition of Community Corrections Providers of NJ, represents community-based facilities and programs in rehabilitation of discharged inmates and other offenders, providing alternatives to incarceration. Member organizations contract with NJ State Parole Board, NJ Department of Corrections, other agencies to operate work-release adult and juvenile programs for institutions and community-based corrections programs. issues include levels of federal and state funding, bail reform, addiction treatment and funding.

Established 1885 pursuant to NJ legislation legalizing local firemen's associations and funds created for relief of disabled and families of firemen., injured, incapacitated or killed in performance of their duty. Works to enhance fire safety, improve fire protection and encourage contacts among departments and fire persons throughout NJ.

Formed 1911, meetings discuss topics related to fire prevention and control, reduction of deaths and injuries and property damage. Lobbies for stronger fire code protection measures.

New Jersey State Exempt Firemen’s Association
Glenn D. Roemmich
President

Represents "exempt" firefighters who have served seven years in municipality in which his/her fire company operates and qualifies for certificates entitling firefighters to certain benefits by statute. Provides mentoring programs for newer members of fire service in both career and volunteer fire departments.

​Professional Firefighters Association of New Jersey 

Dominick Marino

Chartered 1929 as state affiliate of International Association of Fire Fighters, originally named Uniformed Firemen’s Association of NJ, later Fire Fighters Association of NJ until adopting current name 1996. Seventy local affiliate unions throughout NJ represent  3,500 of NJ’s approximately 6,000 professional firemen, also over 500 emergency medical responders who belong to Professional Emergency Medical Services Association. Affiliates recognized bargaining agents negotiating terms and conditions of employment ranging from largest urban fire districts to smaller community fire and rescue agencies.

​New Jersey Emergency Preparedness Association

Represents police, fire, emergency responders, security, healthcare, environmental personnel involved in emergency preparedness and response. Sponsors annual conference and exhibition attracting over 1,500 public and private sector emergency planning professionals from Mid-Atlantic region.

​New Jersey State Safety Council

William C. Margaretta

Founded as Newark Safety Council in 1924, restructured 1946 by business and industry interests including major insurance companies to promote safety, reduce accidental death and injury and economic loss. Promotes adoption of safety and health policies, practices and procedures to mitigate human and economic losses arising from accidents and adverse occupational and environmental exposures. Sponsors range of safety activities, including Fire College to assist local firefighters; seminars promoting workplace safety, safe driving and courses in emergency medical services; highway safety and defensive driving.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving, New Jersey State Office
State chapter of national organization founded 1980 advocating stronger controls on drunk and drugged driving. Also provides victim and family support services. Current issues including expansion of installation of ignition overlock devices to more drivers convicted of driving offenses.   

American Red Cross-New Jersey Region
Ana Montero
Regional Chief Executive Officer                                                                    Affiliate of American Red Cross headquartered in Washington, DC with six local NJ chapter offices. Largest single supplier of blood and blood products in US, also leading provider of health and safety courses and training. During 2016 in NJ region, coordinated over 5,300 volunteers responding to 767 local disasters, helping 1,800 families displaced by home fires; collected more than 89,160 units of blood through blood drives and its donation centers; trained 116,154 individuals with life-saving skills in preparedness, CPR, AED use, first aid and aquatics; provided 3,516 military family case services with emergency messages, helping families find assistance and/or get counseling and referrals.
