Thornley Chapel in Ocean Grove, opened on June 30, 1889, is named for Dr. James H. Thornley, the first superintendent of the Ocean Grove Sabbath School who recommended a separate building on the Camp Meeting grounds specifically for junior services. The chapel hosts the community's daily Children's Meetings and is a popular wedding site.

Ocean Grove’s tent colony housed many of its original visitors who came to hear prominent preachers, dating back to 1869 when there were 200 tents for every house. Today, there are 114 tent structures near the Great Auditorium, where religious services and choir concerts are held. The canvas tents are attached to wooden cottages and used as living rooms; the cottages are used for bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. Descendants of founding families continue to rent the tents for the summer, subject to approval of the Camp Meeting Association.
