NJ association chartered in 1984, sponsors networking programs, industry advocacy and educational courses.
New Jersey Tenants Organization
Founded 1969, oldest, largest statewide tenant membership organization in US. Lobbies at state level for tenants rights and affordable housing, endorses pro-tenant political candidates. Also assists in organizing affiliated building, city, and county tenant organizations throughout state and provides tenants with basic education about their rights. Recent issues include support of legislation providing for payment of tenant legal fees in successful legal actions against landlords
Fair Share Housing Center

Founded 1975, public interest organization formed to defend housing rights of New Jersey’s poor through enforcement of Mount Laurel doctrine. Works for legislation and judicial enforcement of elimination of exclusionary zoning and requiring all towns to provide their “fair share” of their region’s need for affordable housing.
