Hovnanian and three brothers who started homebuilding company  out of trailer in Toms River, in 1959 Kevork's brothers left to establish own construction companies> Went public 1983 first on American Stock Exchange and in 2001 listed on NY Stock Exchange> Designs, constructs and markets a variety of for-sale housing, ranks among largest homebuilding companies in US> Homes marketed and sold under trade names K. Hovnanian® Homes®, Brighton Homes®, and Parkwood Builders>  Leverages market position by providing mortgage and title services to homebuyers> Builds wide variety of attached and detached home styles to buyers ranging from first-time purchasers to luxury buyers, also one of nation's largest builders of active lifestyle communities and in urban infill locations> Ara Hovnanian succeeded father Kevork in 1997 as CEO and as chairman upon father's death in 2009, K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune named 2006 in Kevork's honor recognizing financial support of family
