15th Annual Oktoberfest

Veterans Park. The park is festive with fall decorations, the food is great and the varieties of German beers are even better. Authentic German food is a highlight of this famous festival. Executive Chef Butch Greenwaldt is preparing the menu with plenty of traditional German favorites hot off the grill such as bratwurst, knockwurst, kraut, potato pancakes, goulash, sauerbraten and Bavarian noodles along with other tasty fare those less adventurous. Quench your thirst with a large variety of Oktoberfest Beers, both light and dark. The beer garden will also serve Riesling wine and Sangria.

When the flames begin, music fans, barbecue enthusiasts and championship barbecue teams will descend upon Atlantic City for what is fast becoming known as one of the premier barbecue competitions in the world. Considered one of the world's richest contests with a guaranteed purse of $15,000, the Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned DO AC Smokin' Hot Atlantic City BBQ Championship Grand Champion's purse of $4,400 is also one the largest on the competition circuit. We're spreading the love by paying top five overall and through fourteen places in all four categories.

The festivities kick off with the official Samuel Adams and Hoffbrau keg tapping at 11 am at the Beer Garden in Pyanoe Plaza. Bring the whole family to enjoy plenty of authentic German food, live music, dancing, and fun activities for the kids. The day will feature special performances by Robin McGill School of Dance at 11:30, live music by Shore Blue, crafters, vendors and fun activities for the younger set. Feeling mighty? The March of Dimes' Signature Chefs Gala, now in its second year, has combined North Jersey's 30 year Harvest Ball Black Tie Gala with the North Jersey Signature Chefs Gourmet Gala for a very elegant, upscale evening of fine dining, dancing, dancing demonstrations, a floor show and enjoying top of the line as well as the newest wines, spirits and liqueurs. Bud Maltin and his orchestra will be on hand. This gourmet extravaganza will feature the skills and creativity of approximately 25 -30 of the finest chefs and hottest restaurants in North Jersey. There will also be the opportunity to bid on incredible, creative and unique silent auction and culinary packages that highlight fabulous cuisine, fine wine, travel, entertainment, dinners, hotel stays and vacation getaways. The event will be at The Terrace at Biagio's in Paramus, NJ beginning at 6:00 pm.
